Staying Ahead of the Game in 2020 with Telemedicine
This year has brought drastic changes, which no one could have imagined. COVID-19 has affected all of us in some way. Our family lives, work lives or both have been impacted. As a physical therapist working for Sozo Health, I have been fortunate not to have felt as significant of an impact on my career as some. Sozo has been ahead of the game, as we have been implementing Telemedicine for many years with our industrial clients.
This year my family has seen a huge change in regards to location. My husband’s job has required him to work away from home for the past four months. We are certainly not accustomed to this. He is a strength coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Since baseball had to adapt this year as well, that meant relocating temporarily from Phoenix, AZ to Los Angeles, CA.
With the ability to perform Telemed visits remotely, my son and I were able to visit LA here and there, during the regular season. More recently, we have been able to join in the postseason run! MLB implemented a “bubble” for players, staff, and families, late in the season, carrying into the playoffs. Due to Telemedicine, our family has been able to spend quality time together through the NLDS, NLCS, and now the World Series. LET’S GO DODGERS!!
During this pandemic, Telemedicine has been effective in many fields of medicine and physical therapy is no exception. Sozo Health has been able to help many patients achieve their goals and return to pre-injury status while limiting exposure. We will make it through these tough times together.
Be safe,
